The Write on Bowen Festival Society was founded in 2022 with the intent of coordinating literary events on Bowen, including but not limited to an annual festival of readers and writers, supporting and promoting local authors and writers and their work, and building awareness about the literary heritage of the local community. In 2022, in partnership with the Bowen Island Public Library and the Hearth, the volunteer-run organization will present a two-day festival on August 6-7, 2022 featuring workshops and presentations by local and off-island authors and writers.
